| CVE-2017-1000254 | 2 Haxx, Redhat | 3 Libcurl, Jboss Core Services, Rhel Software Collections | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| libcurl may read outside of a heap allocated buffer when doing FTP. When libcurl connects to an FTP server and successfully logs in (anonymous or not), it asks the server for the current directory with the `PWD` command. The server then responds with a 257 response containing the path, inside double quotes. The returned path name is then kept by libcurl for subsequent uses. Due to a flaw in the string parser for this directory name, a directory name passed like this but without a closing double quote would lead to libcurl not adding a trailing NUL byte to the buffer holding the name. When libcurl would then later access the string, it could read beyond the allocated heap buffer and crash or wrongly access data beyond the buffer, thinking it was part of the path. A malicious server could abuse this fact and effectively prevent libcurl-based clients to work with it - the PWD command is always issued on new FTP connections and the mistake has a high chance of causing a segfault. The simple fact that this has issue remained undiscovered for this long could suggest that malformed PWD responses are rare in benign servers. We are not aware of any exploit of this flaw. This bug was introduced in commit [415d2e7cb7](https://github.com/curl/curl/commit/415d2e7cb7), March 2005. In libcurl version 7.56.0, the parser always zero terminates the string but also rejects it if not terminated properly with a final double quote. | ||||
| CVE-2017-16612 | 3 Canonical, Debian, X | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libxcursor | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| libXcursor before 1.1.15 has various integer overflows that could lead to heap buffer overflows when processing malicious cursors, e.g., with programs like GIMP. It is also possible that an attack vector exists against the related code in cursor/xcursor.c in Wayland through 1.14.0. | ||||
| CVE-2016-10386 | 1 Google | 1 Android | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| In all Qualcomm products with Android releases from CAF using the Linux kernel, an array index out of bounds vulnerability exists in LPP. | ||||
| CVE-2017-1000099 | 1 Haxx | 1 Libcurl | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| When asking to get a file from a file:// URL, libcurl provides a feature that outputs meta-data about the file using HTTP-like headers. The code doing this would send the wrong buffer to the user (stdout or the application's provide callback), which could lead to other private data from the heap to get inadvertently displayed. The wrong buffer was an uninitialized memory area allocated on the heap and if it turned out to not contain any zero byte, it would continue and display the data following that buffer in memory. | ||||
| CVE-2017-16808 | 1 Tcpdump | 1 Tcpdump | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| tcpdump before 4.9.3 has a heap-based buffer over-read related to aoe_print in print-aoe.c and lookup_emem in addrtoname.c. | ||||
| CVE-2016-9556 | 3 Debian, Imagemagick, Opensuse Project | 3 Debian Linux, Imagemagick, Leap | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The IsPixelGray function in MagickCore/pixel-accessor.h in ImageMagick 7.0.3-8 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds heap read) via a crafted image file. | ||||
| CVE-2016-2339 | 1 Ruby-lang | 1 Ruby | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| An exploitable heap overflow vulnerability exists in the Fiddle::Function.new "initialize" function functionality of Ruby. In Fiddle::Function.new "initialize" heap buffer "arg_types" allocation is made based on args array length. Specially constructed object passed as element of args array can increase this array size after mentioned allocation and cause heap overflow. | ||||
| CVE-2016-2366 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Pidgin | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Pidgin | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| A denial of service vulnerability exists in the handling of the MXIT protocol in Pidgin. Specially crafted MXIT data sent via the server could potentially result in an out-of-bounds read. A malicious server or an attacker who intercepts the network traffic can send invalid data to trigger this vulnerability and cause a crash. | ||||
| CVE-2016-10244 | 2 Debian, Freetype | 2 Debian Linux, Freetype | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The parse_charstrings function in type1/t1load.c in FreeType 2 before 2.7 does not ensure that a font contains a glyph name, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted file. | ||||
| CVE-2017-0812 | 1 Google | 1 Android | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| An elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Android media framework (audio hal). Product: Android. Versions: 7.0, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 8.0. Android ID: A-62873231. | ||||

| elf.c in the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library (aka libbfd), as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.29.1, does not validate sizes of core notes, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (bfd_getl32 heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) via a crafted object file, related to elfcore_grok_netbsd_procinfo, elfcore_grok_openbsd_procinfo, and elfcore_grok_nto_status. | ||||
| CVE-2017-17913 | 2 Debian, Graphicsmagick | 2 Debian Linux, Graphicsmagick | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| In GraphicsMagick 1.4 snapshot-20171217 Q8, there is a stack-based buffer over-read in WriteWEBPImage in coders/webp.c, related to an incompatibility with libwebp versions, 0.5.0 and later, that use a different structure type. | ||||
| CVE-2016-9807 | 2 Gstreamer, Redhat | 2 Gstreamer, Enterprise Linux | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
