CVSS v3.1 |
| Team ENVY, a Security Research TEAM has found a flaw that allows for a remote code execution on the
NVR
. An attacker enters a special value for a specific URL parameter, resulting in a NULL pointer reference and a reboot of the NVR. The manufacturer has released patch firmware for the flaw, please refer to the manufacturer's report for details and workarounds. |
| Cesanta Mongoose commit b316989 was discovered to contain a NULL pointer dereference via the scpy function at src/fmt.c. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted MQTT packet. |
| NULL pointer dereference for some Intel(R) MLC software before version v3.11b may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable denial of service via local access. |
| Time4J Base v5.9.3 was discovered to contain a NullPointerException via the component net.time4j.format.internal.FormatUtils::useDefaultWeekmodel(Locale). NOTE: this is disputed by multiple third parties who believe there was not reasonable evidence to determine the existence of a vulnerability. The submission may have been based on a tool that is not sufficiently robust for vulnerability identification. |
| A vulnerability in the DHCPv6 relay agent of Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to improper handling of specific fields in a DHCPv6 RELAY-REPLY message. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted DHCPv6 packet to any IPv6 address that is configured on an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the dhcp_snoop process to crash and restart multiple times, causing the affected device to reload and resulting in a DoS condition. |
| A vulnerability exists in RTU500 IEC 60870-4-104 controlled station functionality, that allows an authenticated and authorized attacker to perform a CMU restart. The vulnerability can be triggered if certificates are updated while in use on active connections.
The affected CMU will automatically recover itself if an attacker successfully exploits this vulnerability. |
| A bug in Micrium OS Network HTTP Server permits an invalid pointer dereference during header processing - potentially allowing a device crash and Denial of Service. |
| simple-dhcp-server through ec976d2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) by sending a DHCP packet without any option fields, which causes free_packet in dhcp_packet.c to dereference a NULL pointer. |
| TeX Live 944e257 allows a NULL pointer dereference in texk/web2c/pdftexdir/tounicode.c. NOTE: this is disputed because it should be categorized as a usability problem. |
| LLVM 15.0.0 has a NULL pointer dereference in the parseOneMetadata() function via a crafted pdflatex.fmt file (or perhaps a crafted .o file) to llvm-lto. NOTE: this is disputed because the relationship between pdflatex.fmt and any LLVM language front end is not explained, and because a crash of the llvm-lto application should be categorized as a usability problem. |
| An issue in MiniZinc before 2.8.0 allows a NULL pointer dereference via ti_expr in a crafted .mzn file. NOTE: this is disputed because there is no common libminizinc use case in which an unattended process is supposed to run forever to process a series of atttacker-controlled .mzn files. |
| NanoMQ MQTT Broker (NanoMQ) is an all-around Edge Messaging Platform. In NanoMQ version 0.24.6, after enabling auth.http_auth (HTTP authentication), when a client connects to the broker using MQTT CONNECT without providing username/password, and the configuration params uses the placeholders %u / %P (e.g., username="%u", password="%P"), the HTTP request construction phase enters auth_http.c:set_data(). This results in calling strlen() on a NULL pointer, causing a SIGSEGV crash. This crash can be triggered remotely, resulting in a denial of service. This issue has been patched in version 0.24.7. |
| Null pointer dereference in Microsoft Graphics Component allows an unauthorized attacker to deny service locally. |
| Null pointer dereference in Windows Performance Counters allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Null pointer dereference in Windows Ancillary Function Driver for WinSock allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Suricata is a network IDS, IPS and NSM engine. From version 8.0.0 to before version 8.0.4, use of the "tls.alpn" rule keyword can cause Suricata to crash with a NULL dereference. This issue has been patched in version 8.0.4. |
| Ella Core is a 5G core designed for private networks. Prior to version 1.8.0, Ella Core panics when processing a NGAP handover failure message. An attacker able to cause a gNodeB to send NGAP handover failure messages to Ella Core can crash the process, causing service disruption for all connected subscribers. This issue has been patched in version 1.8.0. |
| A race condition during TCP connection teardown can cause tcp_recv() to operate on a connection that has already been released. If tcp_conn_search() returns NULL while processing a SYN packet, a NULL pointer derived from stale context data is passed to tcp_backlog_is_full() and dereferenced without validation, leading to a crash. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: allow ext4_get_group_info() to fail
Previously, ext4_get_group_info() would treat an invalid group number
as BUG(), since in theory it should never happen. However, if a
malicious attaker (or fuzzer) modifies the superblock via the block
device while it is the file system is mounted, it is possible for
s_first_data_block to get set to a very large number. In that case,
when calculating the block group of some block number (such as the
starting block of a preallocation region), could result in an
underflow and very large block group number. Then the BUG_ON check in
ext4_get_group_info() would fire, resutling in a denial of service
attack that can be triggered by root or someone with write access to
the block device.
For a quality of implementation perspective, it's best that even if
the system administrator does something that they shouldn't, that it
will not trigger a BUG. So instead of BUG'ing, ext4_get_group_info()
will call ext4_error and return NULL. We also add fallback code in
all of the callers of ext4_get_group_info() that it might NULL.
Also, since ext4_get_group_info() was already borderline to be an
inline function, un-inline it. The results in a next reduction of the
compiled text size of ext4 by roughly 2k. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/mlx5e: Harden uplink netdev access against device unbind
The function mlx5_uplink_netdev_get() gets the uplink netdevice
pointer from mdev->mlx5e_res.uplink_netdev. However, the netdevice can
be removed and its pointer cleared when unbound from the mlx5_core.eth
driver. This results in a NULL pointer, causing a kernel panic.
BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 0000000000001300

Ensure the pointer is valid before use by checking it for NULL. If it
is valid, immediately call netdev_hold() to take a reference, and
preventing the netdevice from being freed while it is in use. |
