CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: psxpad-spi - set driver data before use
psxpad_spi_suspend() retrieves the controller state with
spi_get_drvdata(), but probe never stores it, so suspend dereferences a
NULL pointer. Store it during probe. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usbip: vudc: fix NULL deref in vep_dequeue()
vep_alloc_request() wasn't initializing vrequest->udc, so cancellations
on the FunctionFS AIO path were arriving in vep_dequeue without a valid
UDC reference.
Since vrequest->udc is never actually properly used anywhere, we opt to
remove it, and update vep_dequeue to obtain a reference to the udc with
ep_to_vudc(), consistent with the other vep_ ops.
AFAICT this bug has existed for ~10 years. Seems that nobody has really
stressed the FunctionFS AIO path on usbip's vudc.
I tested this fix in a QEMU aarch64 guest driving FunctionFS endpoints
via AIO. Before the fix, running `usbip attach` from the host would
cause the guest to oops with the following backtrace:

usb: gadget: udc: Fix use-after-free in gadget_match_driver
The udc structure acts as the management structure for the gadget,
but their lifecycles are decoupled. A race condition exists where
usb_del_gadget() frees the udc memory (e.g., via mode-switch work)
while gadget_match_driver() concurrently accesses the freed udc memory
(e.g., via configfs), causing a Use-After-Free (UAF) that triggers a
NULL pointer dereference when the freed memory is zeroed:

[39430.957304][ T1171] __dwc3_set_mode+0xc0/0x664
Fix this by ensuring the udc structure remains allocated until the
gadget is released. To achieve this, introduce a new
usb_gadget_release() routine to the core. When the gadget is added,
usb_add_gadget() stores the gadget's release routine in the udc
structure and takes a reference to the udc. When the gadget is
released, usb_gadget_release() drops the reference to the udc and
then calls the gadget's release routine. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: chacha20poly1305 - validate poly1305 template argument
chachapoly_create() still accepts the compatibility poly1305 parameter
in the template name, but it assumes the second template argument is
always present and immediately passes it to strcmp().
When the argument is missing, crypto_attr_alg_name() returns an error
pointer. Check for that before comparing the name so malformed template
instantiations fail with an error instead of dereferencing the error
pointer in strcmp().
This matches the surrounding Crypto API template pattern where
crypto_attr_alg_name() results are validated before string-specific use. |
| A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in GStreamer's RTSP support library. The vulnerability occurs while parsing an Authorization or WWW-Authenticate header that uses Digest authentication. Specially crafted whitespace placement around a parameter's terminator can cause an internal length calculation to underflow, leading to a crash of the process parsing the header. On an RTSP server this can be triggered by a remote, unauthenticated attacker sending a single malformed request when the server has authentication enabled; the same flaw can also be triggered against an RTSP client by a malicious or compromised RTSP server. Successful exploitation results in a denial of service (application crash) and has no confirmed impact on confidentiality or integrity. |
| RTU500 has a vulnerability, where high-load scenarios, such as sending GI requests at short intervals, may cause a NULL pointer dereference in the last entry of the enhanced message queue. This can cause a BCI_IEC104 fatal write error, resulting in connection interruption and restart, and ultimately a denial of service for bidirectional IEC 60870-5-104 communication. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing: Fix NULL pointer dereference in func_set_flag()
func_set_flag() dereferences tr->current_trace_flags before verifying
that the current tracer is actually the function tracer. When the active
tracer has been switched away from "function" (e.g., to "wakeup_rt"),
tr->current_trace_flags can be NULL, leading to a NULL pointer
dereference and kernel crash.
The call chain that triggers this is:
trace_options_write()
-> __set_tracer_option()
-> trace->set_flag() /* func_set_flag */
In func_set_flag(), the first operation is:
if (!!set == !!(tr->current_trace_flags->val & bit))
This dereferences tr->current_trace_flags unconditionally. The safety
check that guards against a non-function tracer:
if (tr->current_trace != &function_trace)
return 0;
is placed *after* the dereference, which is too late.
This was observed with the following crash dump:
BUG: unable to handle page fault at 0000000000000000

The disassembly confirms the fault:
func_set_flag+0: mov 0x1f08(%rdi), %rax ; RAX = tr->current_trace_flags = NULL
func_set_flag+13: mov (%rax), %eax ; page fault: dereference NULL
At the time of the crash:
tr->current_trace_flags = 0x0 (NULL)
tr->current_trace = wakeup_rt_tracer (not function_trace)
The scenario is that a process opens a function tracer option file (such
as "func_stack_trace"), then the current tracer is switched to another
tracer (e.g., "wakeup_rt"), which sets current_trace_flags to NULL. When
the process subsequently writes to the option file, func_set_flag() is
invoked and crashes on the NULL dereference.
Fix this by moving the current_trace check before the
current_trace_flags dereference, so that func_set_flag() returns early
when the function tracer is not active. |
| An
unauthenticated denial-of-service vulnerability was identified in TP-Link TL-MR100 v3.2, TL-MR150 v3.2, TL-MR6400 v8.0 and Archer MR600 v2, due to improper handling of exceptional request conditions
that may lead to a NULL pointer dereference.
A remote attacker on an adjacent network can send a specially crated
HTTP request to trigger a crash of the HTTP service process.
Successful
exploitation may cause the HTTP service to crash, making the web management
interface and HTTP-dependent functionality temporarily unavailable. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvme-pci: fix use-after-free in nvme_free_host_mem()
nvme_free_host_mem() frees dev->hmb_sgt via dma_free_noncontiguous()
but never clears the pointer afterward. This leads to a use-after-free
if nvme_free_host_mem() is called twice in the same error path.
This can happen during nvme_probe() when nvme_setup_host_mem() succeeds
in allocating the HMB (setting dev->hmb_sgt) but nvme_set_host_mem()
fails with an I/O error:
nvme_setup_host_mem()
nvme_alloc_host_mem_single() -> sets dev->hmb_sgt
nvme_set_host_mem() -> fails with -EIO
nvme_free_host_mem() -> frees hmb_sgt, but does NOT NULL it
return error
nvme_probe() error path:
nvme_free_host_mem() -> dev->hmb_sgt is stale, use-after-free
The second call dereferences the freed sgt, causing a NULL pointer
dereference in iommu_dma_free_noncontiguous() when it accesses
sgt->sgl->dma_address (the backing memory has been freed and zeroed).
This is reproducible on Thunderbolt-attached NVMe devices (e.g., OWC
Envoy Express behind a Dell WD22TB4 dock) where the device intermittently
returns I/O errors during HMB setup due to PCIe link instability.

Fix this by setting dev->hmb_sgt to NULL after freeing it, so the
second call takes the multi-descriptor path which safely handles the
already-cleaned-up state. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
selinux: do not cancel a policy conversion that never started
sel_write_load() calls selinux_policy_cancel() when sel_make_policy_nodes()
fails, and that helper dereferences the outgoing policy to cancel its
sidtab conversion. On the first policy load there is no outgoing policy:
security_load_policy() returns early for that case, before it converts
anything, and state->policy is still NULL. A first load that fails while
building the selinuxfs tree therefore takes a NULL dereference in
selinux_policy_cancel(), reached from a write(2) to /sys/fs/selinux/load.
Skip the cancel when there is no old policy, mirroring the check
security_load_policy() already makes before it converts. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: x_tables: allocate hook ops while under mutex
arp/ip(6)t_register_table() add the table to the per-netns list via
xt_register_table() before allocating the per-netns hook ops copy
via kmemdup_array(). This leaves a window where the table is
visible in the list with ops=NULL.
If the pernet exit happens runs concurrently the pre_exit callback finds
the table via xt_find_table() and passes the NULL ops pointer to
nf_unregister_net_hooks(), causing a NULL dereference:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: xilinx: formatter_pcm: pass aud_drv_data to irq handlers
The irq handlers take a struct device pointer and call
dev_get_drvdata() to obtain the driver data. However, the driver
data is only set at the end of probe, after devm_request_irq(),
so an interrupt taken in between causes the handlers to pass a
NULL pointer to readl() and crash.
Pass the private data directly as the devm_request_irq() argument
instead of the device pointer, matching what the handlers expect. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ring-buffer: Fix crash passing ERR_PTR to kthread_stop()
In test_ringbuffer()'s out_free cleanup loop, the check
`!rb_threads[cpu]` only catches NULL entries and misses entries that
hold an ERR_PTR.
rb_threads[] is static, so unassigned slots are NULL. But when
kthread_run_on_cpu() fails for a cpu, it stores ERR_PTR(-ENOMEM) (or
-EINTR) in rb_threads[cpu] before the creation loop jumps to out_free.
That entry is non-NULL, so the old `!ptr` check does not break, and the
cleanup proceeds to call kthread_stop() on the ERR_PTR. kthread_stop()
then dereferences the bogus pointer, crashing the kernel during the
late_initcall self-test.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ovpn: tcp - use cached peer pointer in ovpn_tcp_close()
ovpn_tcp_close() loads the ovpn_socket via rcu_dereference_sk_user_data()
under rcu_read_lock(), takes a reference on sock->peer, caches the peer
pointer in a local, and drops the read lock. It then passes sock->peer
(rather than the cached local) to ovpn_peer_del(), re-dereferencing the
ovpn_socket after the RCU read section has ended.
Unlike ovpn_tcp_sendmsg(), which uses the same "load under RCU, use
after unlock" pattern but is protected by lock_sock() held across the
function, ovpn_tcp_close() runs without the socket lock: inet_release()
invokes sk_prot->close() without taking lock_sock first.
ovpn_socket_release() can therefore complete its kref_put -> detach ->
synchronize_rcu -> kfree(sock) sequence concurrently, in the window
after ovpn_tcp_close() drops rcu_read_lock() but before it dereferences
sock->peer. The synchronize_rcu() in ovpn_socket_release() protects
readers that use the dereferenced pointer inside the RCU read section,
not those that escape the pointer to a local and use it afterwards.
A reproducer follows the pattern of commit 94560267d6c4 ("ovpn: tcp -
don't deref NULL sk_socket member after tcp_close()"): trigger a peer
removal (keepalive expiration or netlink OVPN_CMD_DEL_PEER) at the same
moment userspace closes the TCP fd. That commit fixed the detach-side
of the same race window; this one fixes the close-side at a different
victim.
Tighten the entry block to read sock->peer exactly once into the cached
peer local, and route all subsequent uses (the hold check, the
ovpn_peer_del() call, and the prot->close() invocation) through that
local. sock->peer is only ever written once in ovpn_socket_new() under
lock_sock(), before rcu_assign_sk_user_data() publishes the ovpn_socket,
and is never reassigned afterwards - but the previous multi-read pattern
made that invariant implicit rather than explicit. The same multi-read
shape exists in ovpn_tcp_recvmsg(), ovpn_tcp_sendmsg(),
ovpn_tcp_data_ready() and ovpn_tcp_write_space(); those will be cleaned
up via a dedicated helper in a follow-up net-next series. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/smc: reject CHID-0 ACCEPT that matches an empty ism_dev slot
On the SMC-D client, slot 0 of ini->ism_dev[]/ini->ism_chid[] is
reserved for an SMC-Dv1 device. smc_find_ism_v2_device_clnt()
populates V2 entries starting at index 1, so when no V1 device is
selected slot 0 is left in its kzalloc()'ed state with ism_dev[0] ==
NULL and ism_chid[0] == 0.
smc_v2_determine_accepted_chid() then matches the peer's CHID against
the array starting from index 0 using the CHID alone. A malicious
peer replying to a SMC-Dv2-only proposal with d1.chid == 0 matches
the empty slot, ini->ism_selected becomes 0, and the subsequent

pin_user_pages_fast() can partially succeed and return the number of
pages that were actually pinned. However, the bio_integrity_map_user()
