CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sched_ext: Don't run ops.dequeue() with a DSQ lock held
ops.dequeue() is invoked with the source user DSQ's lock still held on
the consume and move paths (scx_consume_dispatch_q(),
move_task_between_dsqs()). A BPF scheduler which locks the source user
DSQ from ops.dequeue() - e.g. by iterating it with bpf_iter_scx_dsq -
self-deadlocks.
ops.dequeue() can only call the "any" kfuncs and none of them can lock a
builtin DSQ, so the global and bypass paths can't deadlock; however,
all DSQ locks share one lockdep class, so iterating any user DSQ from
ops.dequeue() on those paths trips the recursion check.
Move the invocation after the DSQ unlock on all three paths.
SCX_TASK_IN_CUSTODY is cleared under the lock serializing the transfer
so that the callback is invoked exactly once. |
| Deadlock in Windows Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) allows an unauthorized attacker to deny service over a network. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: bridge: avoid recursive multicast port cleanup
br_multicast_sg_del_exclude_ports() removes automatically added STAR_EXCL
port groups by calling br_multicast_del_pg(). For S,G entries, that
deletion calls back into br_multicast_sg_del_exclude_ports(), so a large
number of STAR_EXCL ports consumes one kernel stack frame per port and can
hit the stack guard page.
Keep the complete port-group deletion path for cleanup, but suppress the
S,G exclude-port cleanup while that helper is already walking the same
entry. Normal deletion callers retain the existing behavior. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/slab: do not wake up kswapd in __kfree_rcu_sheaf()
Since kfree_rcu() can be called under pi_lock (a raw spinlock in the
scheduler), kfree_rcu() itself should never allocate memory with
__GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM as waking up kswapd ends up acquiring pi_lock,
which leads to a deadlock.
Reproducing the issue even intentionally was not straightforward.
The set_cpus_allowed_force() path that is called under pi_lock is
exercised very rarely, and competing tasks that allocate memory will
most likely wake kswapd up.
Therefore the existence of the deadlock was verified with a modified
kernel that has a lockdep map for waking up kswapd:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
blk-cgroup: save IRQ state in blkg_tryget_closest()
bio_set_dev() associates the bio with a blkg through bio_associate_blkg().
If the blkg lookup misses, blkg_tryget_closest() takes q->queue_lock with
spin_lock_irq() and releases it with spin_unlock_irq(), which
unconditionally enables local interrupts.
Callers may call bio_set_dev() with interrupts already disabled, e.g.
dm-thin's pool_map() does so while holding pool->lock taken with
spin_lock_irq(). The nested spin_unlock_irq() then enables interrupts
while pool->lock is still held, so an I/O completion softirq can run on
the same CPU, re-acquire pool->lock (thin_endio(), or overwrite_endio()
-> complete_mapping_preparation()) and deadlock. lockdep reports this
as inconsistent SOFTIRQ-ON-W to IN-SOFTIRQ-W usage.
Commit 3a762de55b4e ("block: save irq state in blkg_lookup_create()")
fixed the same problem while the lock lived in blkg_lookup_create(), but
commit 9327a865e395 ("blk-cgroup: don't nest queue_lock under rcu in
blkg_lookup_create()") moved the locking into blkg_tryget_closest() and
reverted it to spin_lock_irq().
Save and restore the caller's IRQ state instead. |
| ImageSharp is a 2D graphics library. From 2.0.0 until 4.1.2, ExifReader.ReadValues64 trusts the 64-bit BigTIFF IFD entry count and iterates once per declared entry. When fewer than 20 bytes remain, ExifReader.ReadValue64 returns without advancing the stream or terminating the outer loop, so a small malformed BigTIFF can keep one decoder thread executing for an attacker-controlled duration. This report does not claim worker-pool exhaustion. This issue is fixed in version 4.1.2. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.2, an attacker can craft a PDF with a standard cross-reference table whose declared entry count exceeds what the file can contain, causing excessive processing and long runtimes when the file is opened. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.2. |
| Twisted is an event-based framework for internet applications, supporting Python 3.6+. Prior to 26.10.0rc1, twisted.mail.imap4.IMAP4Server reaches twisted.mail.imap4.parseNestedParens with a negative literal size in an authenticated SEARCH command after the client enters the selected mailbox state. The negative size moves the parser cursor below zero, and Python's negative indexing prevents the synchronous scanning loop from terminating. The loop freezes the single-threaded reactor, stopping other IMAP connections and any SMTP or POP3 services hosted in the same process until restart. This issue is fixed in version 26.10.0rc1. |
| Open WebUI from 0.9.0 before 0.11.4 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows authenticated users with automations permission to stall the instance by submitting unsatisfiable recurrence rules. Attackers can repeatedly send rules like February 30th to the automations create or update endpoints, blocking the shared event loop for seconds per request. |
| Improper synchronization in the OpenVPN ovpn-dco-win for Windows versions 0.6.5 through 1.3.5 and 2.4.0 through 2.8.7 allows local attackers to trigger a deadlock via a crafted write to the ovpn-dco device, causing the host to become unresponsive. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/ras: reset CPER ring on corrupt entry size
When CPER ring overflow handling advances the read pointer, it trusts the
parsed entry size from the current ring contents. Corrupt CPER data can
produce an entry size that does not advance rptr after dword conversion
and pointer masking.
In that case the recovery loop keeps testing the same location while
holding the CPER ring mutex. This can hang the worker that is writing the
next CPER record.
Detect a no-progress rptr update and reset the CPER ring to an empty
state instead. This drops the corrupt contents and lets the writer leave
the recovery path without spinning. |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 7.2.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow can enter an infinite loop while determining the frame count of a MIC image. MicImageFile inherits TIFF frame traversal, but MicImageFile.tell reports the OLE stream index and its seek() resets TIFF frame state, so an embedded TIFF with at least three IFDs never advances. When an application with olefile installed reads n_frames or saves all frames from a crafted MIC file, the non-advancing traversal can hold a worker at full CPU indefinitely. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 5.1.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow's PdfParser.get_value() can recurse without a limit while reading nested PDF objects. The parser follows attacker-controlled arrays and dictionaries when an existing PDF is opened for append. An attacker can provide a deeply nested PDF to an application that saves an image with PDF append enabled. This can raise an uncaught RecursionError or terminate the worker, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. |
| Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') vulnerability in Erlang OTP stdlib (erl_tar module), hexpm hex_core (hex_erl_tar module), hexpm hex (mix_hex_erl_tar module) and erlang rebar3 (r3_hex_erl_tar module) allows an attacker who supplies a tar archive to cause a denial of service via a crafted GNU sparse member.
When erl_tar:extract/1,2 writes a member to disk, erl_tar:stream_to_file_loop/3 reads it in chunks of 65536 bytes by default. For a GNU sparse member whose sparse map ends before its real size, erl_tar:do_sparse_read/3 matches its trailing-hole clause before its zero-length clause. After the chunk is used up, the trailing-hole clause reads zero bytes, does not advance the position, and recurses forever. A 2048-byte archive keeps the extracting process and one scheduler busy until the process is killed. The {max_size, N} option prevents this only when N is below the real size of the member. Extraction with the memory option is not affected.
hex_core ships its own copy of erl_tar as hex_erl_tar, and Hex and rebar3 ship hex_core with prefixed module names (mix_hex_erl_tar and r3_hex_erl_tar). These copies contain the same code and do not call stdlib's erl_tar, so they are affected on any OTP version. OTP 28 is not affected, but an application running on OTP 28 is affected if it extracts archives through an affected version of hex_core, Hex or rebar3.
This issue affects OTP from OTPĀ 29.0 before OTPĀ 29.1.2, corresponding to rebar3 from 3.27.1 before 3.28.0, and stdlib from 8.0 before 8.1.1, and hex from 2.4.2 before 2.5.3; hex_core: from 0.14.0 before 0.20.1. |
| A flaw in the client-side encryption support of the MongoDB .NET/C# driver can cause data designated for client-side field-level encryption to be written without encryption. Under certain platform text-encoding configurations, an internal name conversion loses information, so the encryption layer fails to associate the operation with its configured encryption rules and the operation proceeds without an error being raised. An application user with the ability to write data through an affected application can therefore have sensitive fields persisted in plaintext, defeating the confidentiality guarantee that client-side encryption is intended to provide. No integrity or availability impact was observed. |
| kin-openapi is a Go project for handling OpenAPI files. Prior to 0.149.0, runtime request, response, and direct schema validation lacks cycle detection when an allOf, anyOf, or oneOf chain refers back to an ancestor schema, even though loading and document validation accept the circular reference. A request or response that reaches the affected schema causes unbounded recursion in Schema.visitJSON or openapi3filter.decodeValue and exhausts the Go goroutine stack. The resulting fatal stack overflow cannot be caught with recover and terminates the entire process, including unrelated requests. This issue is fixed in version 0.149.0. |
| In EmberZNet 9.1.1 and earlier, a malformed Discover Attributes command can result in a loop with unreachable exit condition (infinite loop). These messages must come from a device that has already joined the network. Only devices supporting manufacturer-specific clusters are impacted. |
